- Elected to the Board of Directors of CUAHSI (Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc.). This election is voted by the CUAHSI members, which consist of more than 130 US universities and international organizations.
- Board of Trustees Award for Excellence (2019), Clemson University. To acknowledge faculty and staff whose vision, accomplishments, and efforts have brought honor to Clemson University.
- URSAA Award (2018), Clemson University. To recognize the faculty whose work has been acknowledged at the highest levels nationally and internationally.
- NSF Early CAREER Award (2017)
- Invited by US Department of Agriculture (USDA) as one of the six committee members to conduct five-year retrospective review for the USDA Agricultural Research Service’s National Program 211 – Water Availability and Watershed Management. Clemson University is one of the four universities to get such invitation.
- My research (project) was highlighted by USDA in a press release (17th May 2016). It was highlighted to demonstrate the type of critical research funded by USDA. Two universities appeared in the list. It says "Clemson University is integrating remote sensing products and weather forecast information for farmers and growers to address the best products, increase agricultural drought indices, and develop an agricultural drought forecasting model to provide near real-time feedback."
- Best Forum Article for 2015, Journal of Hydrologic Engineering, ASCE
- Certificate from Journal of Hydrology (IF: 3.05) in recognition of being the most highly cited paper since 2007, appearing consistently in the ‘most downloaded’ list for the journal online. Journal of Hydrology is considered as one of the most respected journal worldwide in the field of water resources. Publication title is ‘A review of drought concepts’.
- Received ‘Research in Excellence award for the year 2012’ at Texas A&M University, College station, Texas.
- Selected as reviewer for the development of a guidance document for the evaluation of water monitoring networks for climate change adaptation (on behalf of the Water Monitoring and Climate Change Subgroup of the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME).
- Biographical profile was selected for inclusion in the 2011 editions of Marquis Who’s Who in America.
- Biographical profile was selected for inclusion in the 2009 editions of Marquis Who’s Who in World.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, WA.
- Postdoctoral Fellowship at Texas A&M University.
